The Pandora spectrophotometer

The optical head of the Pandora instrument

In 2020, a Pandora instrument (#162) was installed in collaboration with colleagues of the Royal Belgian Institute for Space Aeronomy. This instrument uses a CCD detector to measure simultaneously a wide range of wavelengths in the UV and the visible from the sun or the sky. The Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy (DOAS) technique allows then to retrieve the concentrations of several traces gases (O3, NO2 …) in the atmosphere. The ozone observations of this instrument will be compared with those of the Brewer instruments. This instrument is part of the expanding network PANDONIA.
